Completing The Cleansing Flame in Diablo 4
First, go to Margrave, where Priest Matvey is near the giant pyre in the center of town. When you arrive at Priest Matvey’s location, talk to him using the “It seems Margrave is beset by evil on all sides” option. He will tell you that darkness is all around us and threatens to close in at any moment. It’s been a long hard struggle to keep the evil at bay. When the Knights Penitent still patrolled the surrounding woods, they kept large braziers lit to ward off evil, but that time passed. However, one brazier remains, and you must light it again.
Now, you must light the ritual brazier. You can find the ritual brazier to the Northeast of Margrave. When you arrive at the brazier’s location, you must light the brazier to begin the ritual. Immediately after you light the brazier, your quest objective will change to “Cleanse the area.” Along with the new quest step, you will also notice wave after wave of enemies spawning. Defeat them all to continue in The Cleansing Flame in Diablo 4.
Once the area is thoroughly cleansed, you must head back to Margrave to return to Priest Matvey. When you approach the priest, use the “I have lit the old brazier” option to speak with him. Priest Matvey is pleased with your work and says he can smell the brazier burning from here. He wishes he could have seen the fire burning. He will tell you that the light shines through you just before the quest is complete, earning you some gold and Experience Points for completing The Cleansing Flames in Diablo 4.
